Dana Backmann – February 2010

Dana Backmann is a sophomore student from Dunmore in our Culinary Arts program. Dana was nominated by her instructor, Chef Steve Anania. Steve describes Dana as a great student who constantly goes above and beyond what is required of her. She shows enthusiasm and initiative in the culinary program, working well independently.

Scott Miles – February 2010

Scott Miles is a first year student, a junior from North Pocono in our Automotive Technology Program. Scott was nominated by his instructor, Mr. James Caswell. Mr. Caswell reports that he is greatly impressed with Scott’s abilities and professional conduct. Scott currently has a grade average of 93 in the program.

Katie Kosack – January 2010

Katie is a second year student from Dunmore High School in our Visual Art and Design Program.  Katie was nominated by her instructor Mrs. Linda Naro.  Mrs. Naro describes Katie as one of those rare students who is extremely focused and is actively pursuing her goal of becoming a fashion designer.  Katie is highly motivated and shows great initiative by independently studying art in her free time as well as participating in classes outside of school to learn sewing.

Emily Gaddy – January 2010

Emily is a first year student from Carbondale Junior/Senior High School in our Horticulture & Landscaping Program. She was nominated by her instructor Ms. Kelly Moore.  Emily is a transfer student from Atlanta and immediately adapted to the class.  Ms. Moore states that Emily does exceptional work, always with a smile and helps others every chance she can.  She is the captain of the Skills USA Entrepreneurship Team that won a Gold Medal in District Competition and will compete in Hershey at the state Skills competition.
