Dana Backmann is a sophomore student from Dunmore in our Culinary Arts program. Dana was nominated by her instructor, Chef Steve Anania. Steve describes Dana as a great student who constantly goes above and beyond what is required of her. She shows enthusiasm and initiative in the culinary program, working well independently.

Scott Miles is a first year student, a junior from North Pocono in our Automotive Technology Program. Scott was nominated by his instructor, Mr. James Caswell. Mr. Caswell reports that he is greatly impressed with Scott’s abilities and professional conduct. Scott currently has a grade average of 93 in the program.

Katie is a second year student from Dunmore High School in our Visual Art and Design Program.  Katie was nominated by her instructor Mrs. Linda Naro.  Mrs. Naro describes Katie as one of those rare students who is extremely focused and is actively pursuing her goal of becoming a fashion designer.  Katie is highly motivated and shows great initiative by independently studying art in her free time as well as participating in classes outside of school to learn sewing.

Emily is a first year student from Carbondale Junior/Senior High School in our Horticulture & Landscaping Program. She was nominated by her instructor Ms. Kelly Moore.  Emily is a transfer student from Atlanta and immediately adapted to the class.  Ms. Moore states that Emily does exceptional work, always with a smile and helps others every chance she can.  She is the captain of the Skills USA Entrepreneurship Team that won a Gold Medal in District Competition and will compete in Hershey at the state Skills competition.

Cody is a senior from Mountain View enrolled in our Electrical Construction Program.  Cody is described by his instructor Mr. Robert Hassaj as a leader in the program. He shows great interest in learning new skills, has a positive attitude and does high quality work.  Cody is a 2 year member of the National Technical Honor Society and an active participant in Skills USA.

Kevin Davis is junior from Holy Cross High School currently enrolled in our Health Occupations course. His grade to date is a 100. His instructor, Tammy Bauman describes Kevin as a leader in the classroom, always willing to assist other students and shows great interest in the program. Kevin excels in all aspects of the program, has an excellent work ethic and is a positive influence on the school community.

Frank Karluk is a senior student from West Scranton High School enrolled in our Computer Systems Technology program. Frank’s current average is a 92. His instructor, Tom Czachor, reports that Frank is always eager to help other students and faculty and shows great respect in his interactions with others. He works independently and shows initiative to work on special projects in addition to his regular class assignments.

Sarah was nominated by her Horticulture and Landscaping Instructor, Ms. Kelly Moore. Ms. Moore describes Sarah as hardworking, a leader in the classroom and enthusiastic in her daily work.

She goes on to say that Sarah has “blossomed during her time at CTC.” Sarah is always willing to help others, is joy to be around with a smile for everyone.

Natalie shows great enthusiasm and is always willing to learn new tasks. She is helpful to her fellow students in that she always provides her notes to students who have been absent. Natalie is consistently respectful to the faculty and students of CTC. Natalie is also actively involved in cheerleading at her homeschool.
